Salary Negotiations

Decide if you want to do the job for next few years....Understand the following in details.

1. job roles and responsiblities.
2. Your interests.
3. Long term vision & goals.
4. Do you like the person - that your are reporting to ?

Financials:

1. Decide the bottom line (mine and company)
2. Industry standard - from other companies
3. Total package - Salary + Bonus + Benefits.
4. Identify past outcomes for recent hires ?
5. BATNA - Alternatives

Negotiation:

1. Be cooperative & Creative - not adversarial
2. Better off with higher base
3. Know what you want
4. Keep in mind the restrictions of the company - Eg. Are they ok to negotiate the 401k match
